We tried to apply as a Bookstore (Otherland Berlin), but we were told by the national agency that the program is designed for publishers. Then, the target languages must be the ones from member states ... we wanted to have German stories (Aiki, Nils Westerboer etc.) translated to English. That would not work, because we there is actually only ireland left, and that would not sound like a big multiplication lever. Further, you need to do more than just translate: you need to provide a marketing and distribution strategy, to create impact. And finally, be aware that only a certain percentage is funded, like 80%, depending on the amount you ask for, so you have to pay the remaining 20% or so by yourself (although I was told that it is not really checked in practice). Quintessence: Can be a strong programme if you meet the requirements.
